Vote For Our Next Bloggy Boot Camp Speaker!

In honor of our Birthday Bash, we opened up our doors to speaker proposals for both our Denver stop on September 17 and our Atlanta stop on October 22. If you’ve ever been interested in becoming a speaker at a blog conference, this was your big chance! We asked our community to send us a video clip describing who they are and what they would talk about if we handed over the microphone to them.

And did you ever respond!

In the course of one week, we received over 100 video submissions! We could hardly believe it. An endless number of talented, funny, and creative women all forwarded videos to us. We only wish we had space for everyone.

However, we forged ahead. After an endless amount of debate and time on YouTube, we managed to narrow down our candidates to five women.

What Happens Next

Now comes the fun part! It’s time for our readers to choose one speaker for an upcoming Bloggy Boot Camp! Simply watch the below videos and then decide who you’d like to hear speak.

Voting is limited to once per day and will close next Wednesday, August 3. After we have a chance to tally the votes, we’ll announce the lucky winner!

Here They Are!

#1: Robin from Farewell Stranger:

#2: Sharon from Mom of 6

#3: Kimberley from Through the Lens of Kimberley Gauthier

#4: Stacey from Tree, Root, and Twig

#5: Annie from Mama Dweeb

Time to Vote

We’ll tally the votes and reveal our lucky winner towards the end of next week!

Update: The winner of the contest was Stacey from Root, Tree, and Twig, but there were more surprises!

Yay!!! So excited to be a finalist. Thank you so much. I would LOVE this opportunity and promise to be a bit funny and a lot inspiring.

And yes, if you look closely, my son is eating plastic dinosaurs in the video. What? I didn’t let him swallow any. ;)

Is there we are actually voting? I would also love to see Annie (mamadweeb) She is an awesome blogger and I believe she has a great topic as well. I need and I am sure many others need help with tweaking their writing!
    Great job Mama Dweeb!

Although all have so much to offer, BBC would be richly serving so many if they have RobinJ.

PPD is a subject that is more widespread than stigma allows it to be.

I voted for RobinJ: blogging knownhow is important, but our mental health needs to be at the forefront.

I voted for Annie from MamaDweeb. She has the topic I most am interested in. I definitely could use help tweaking my writing. :) Hopefully Ill see her in ATL.

Thank you Jessica! And editing can be so much fun! LOL (no really, it can. I can teach you how to kill passive verbs, yay!)

I’d love to go to either Atlanta or Denver, I am in KS….so either way, I’m driving quite a bit :)

At the bottom of the post, directly below the videos, you should see a box entitled, Who Should Our Next Bloggy Boot Camp Speaker Be? You can choose winners there.

      Hope that helps!

Congrats and Good Luck to all the finalists! My vote is for Annie @ MamaDweeb! Her topic is exactly what I am interested in learning more about and I LOVE her enthusiasm, Go Annie!!

  7. says

Mama Robin appears to be an experienced speaker that could combine those talents with her obvious success as a blogger making her a person I’d love to hear from.

  8. says

I totally agree with Henrietta about Annie’s enthusiasm! In fact, if she wins, I still hope to get to BBC just to see her session!! Huge thanks to SITS for this opportunity, and to everyone who is voting (no matter *who* you are voting for – because seeing people support each other is just awesome, period).

  9. says

I voted for Kimberley- please have her as a speaker in Denver! I felt Kimberley’s story is something every blogger can relate to, and every blog can benefit from photography.

Can’t wait to see who gets picked for Denver! It’s my first blog conference and I’m really looking forward to it!

  10. says

All so great, and as a mum who has had post partum depression, is an amateur photographer, who need to be more organised with her blogging, and frequently fears bloggy burnout, I want to vote for you all!

However, for sheer enthusiasm, my vote goes to Annie from Mama Dweeb

Good luck to all of you, see you in Atlanta!

  11. Toni Byrnes says

I vote a million times for MamaRobinJ. I so hope she wins. It won’t just be a win for her, but for SITS and everyone who gets to hear her speak.

  12. Teresa says

Would love to see Kimberly in Denver – have followed her fabulous blog for a few months and would love to see her live :)

You have to scroll way down to the bottom to find the poll. The Time to Vote button doesn’t seem to do anything. Vote for #1 Robin and Farewell Stranger! She is an awesome speaker. Fun too.

  13. A very proud follower of Tree, Root and Twig says

My vote is for Stacey from Tree, Root and Twig! She speaks from the heart, is always real in what she says AND has the education, passion and creativity to pull it all together. The other finalists are great, but Stacey is amazing! She is a dynamic and engaging speaker, you WANT to listen to what she has to say because she has a way of drawing you in. My favorite thing about her is that she talks about topics that most people don’t have to courage to talk about, the stuff people *feel* but don’t want to admit. Change it up and let’s get REAL!

  14. Rich says

My vote is for Robin from Farewell Stranger. She’s a great presenter and comes prepared with humor, wit and inspiration.

  15. Rosemary says

I would love to see Robin from Farewell Stranger speak. She is funny, smart and as articulate in person as she is in her blog. I encourage everyone to vote for her!!
